National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Objectives:

  • To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
  • To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
  • To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.

 

About:

The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

Club Activities :

Pre TSC (13th June 2023 – 22nd June 2023)

Pre TSC was 10 days camp conducted at Chitkara University Rajpura, Chandigarh in which cadets are selected from all directorates. This camp is to give exposure to the salient features of Army Training, generating a healthy competitive Spirit and fostering a sense of discipline and honour, inculcating in them a sense of leadership and camaraderie.

 
 
Blood Donation Camp 2022 (27.11.2022)
Blood Donation Camp was organized on 27 November 2022 at SLIET Health Centre by 14 PB BN NCC NABHA. The camp started at 11’o clock and continued till 4 PM. There were total of 72 donations in which students actively participated.
Camp
Camp training is the practical manifestation of institutional training. The basic aim of Camps is to introduce cadets to a regimented way of life and helps in developing camaraderie, team work, leadership qualities, self-confidence, self-reliance and dignity of labour in the cadets. The cadets are exposed to the excitement of camp life where they apply the theoretical knowledge that they had gained in Institutional Training. In the year 2022 the students actively participated in camps namely ATC (Annual training Camp), AAC (Army Attachment Camp), RDC (Republic Day Camp), Ek Bharat Camp, SSB Coaching camp.
Har Ghar Tiranga Rally
On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day Har ghar tiranga rally was organized in the institute from 13 August 2022 to 15 August 2022 and the rally was leaded by our cadets.
Morning Workout
To expose young cadets to a `regimental way of life’ which is essential to inculcate in them the values of discipline, duty, punctuality, orderliness, smartness, respect for the authorities, correct work ethos, and self- confidence and to inculcate Defence Services work ethos that is characterised by hard work, sincerity of purpose, honesty, ideal of selfless service, dignity of labour, secular outlook, comradeship, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship.
Drill
Drill is an important part of a cadet’s life. It inculcates a sense of discipline, improves bearing, smartness in appearance and turn out, creates self-confidence, develop the quality of immediate and implicit obedience to orders and teamwork. In addition to these qualities, drill brings about the co-ordination between mind and body and serves as the basis for imparting other service training.
Ceremonial Parade
Ceremonial Parade is one of the most important parts of a cadet’s life in NCC Sliet. Ceremonial parade is carried out in most auspicious occasions namely Republic Day, Independence Day and NCC Day.
Group Discussion
GD is a discussion that tests the candidate’s skills, such as leadership skills, communication skills, social skills and behaviour, politeness, teamwork, listening ability, General awareness, confidence, problem-solving skills, etc.

 

Anniversary of surgical strike day celebrated on 28th Sept
Birth anniversary of late Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”
  1. 35 cadets(25 SD & 10 SW) in first year
  2. 34 cadets(23 SD and 11 SW) in second year
  3. 35 cadets(28 SD & 07 SW) in third year(passing out batch in 2019)

 

Activity

  1. Ceremonial parade and duty in discipline and sweet distribution  arrangements on 15th August,2018
  2. 35 cadets for the year 2018-19 have been recruited from the institute on 16-17 August 2018
  3. Six Monthly Interactions of Head of Institution with ADDL DTE GEN,PH HP & CHD,Chandigarh at Patiala” have been attended by me with Dean(SW) Prof.D.C.Saxena on 24th August 2018 held at Thapar institute, Patiala
  4. Second Anniversary of Surgical Strike Day Celebrated on 28/9/18
  5. The SLIET NCC has also observed the Armed forces flag day on7th December 2018
  6. 70th NCC day was celebrated on 25 November, 2018
  7. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrated on 31st October 2018 on the birth anniversary of a true leader and famous as Loh Purush (Iron Man) of India Late Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel
  8. The SLIET NCC has also observed the communal harmony week from 19th to 25th November 2018 and flag day on 24th November 2018
  9. Ceremonial parade and duty in discipline and sweet distribution arrangements on 26th January, 2019
  10. Duty in discipline and quarter guards in receiving chief guests of certificate award ceremony held on 6th march 2019 and 21st annual convocation held on 9th March, 2019
